The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has suspended the supply of heavy fuel to the Yugadhanavi power plant in Kerawalapitiya.
Petroleum Minister Susil Premajayantha has said the CPC has suspended the supply of heavy fuel to the Yugadhanavi plant, as it had not settled an outstanding bill amounting to millions of rupees.
He has said that the arrears needed to be settled for the CPC to continue with its fuel supply.
The Yugadhanavi power plant owes a sum of Rs. 2,800 million for heavy fuel, Premajayantha has said. A liter of heavy fuel is being sold by the CPC to the Yugadhanavi plant at Rs. 20 less than the import cost.
