The Sri Lankan Cricket team has entered the semi finals of the ICC World Cup series by defeating England that introduced Cricket to the world.
The match was held at the R. Premadasa Stadium at Kettarama. The Sri Lankan team had to achieve a target of 230. Tillakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga pushed towards their target without losing a single wicket. Both opening batsmen scored centuries while they achieved victory with 63 balls remaining. So far only 8 victories have been recorded at the R.Premadasa Stadium while pursuing a target of 230. It was for the first time since 2004 that such a victory was recorded yesterday.
