The Court of Appeal has today (28) granted bail to Sarath Fonseka’s private secretary, Retired Captain Senaka Silva.
The Court has granted bail to Silva when his bail application was taken up for hearing today. The state counsel had said there was no objection to grant bail to him.
Silva was remanded on a charge of employing army deserters during the last presidential election campaign.
Silva was released on a cash bail of Rs.100,000 and has been ordered not to leave the country.
He was ordered to handover his passport to courts and to report to the OIC of the Criminal Investigations Department on the last Sunday of every month.
