There has been a high response from the public in Ampara to testify before the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC).
The Commission has already ended seeking evidence from the Kalmunai area. Statements were recorded under the patronage of Chairman of the Commission and Former Attorney General C.R. de Silva at the Kalmunai Divisional Secretariat. Our Correspondent said that the Commission had already received about 400 complaints. Kirubaraja, a resident of Kalmunai giving evidence had said that all communities should live in amity. He said it was the obligation of everyone to leave no room for a division of the country. In his evidence, he clarified how he had to leave the motherland due to LTTE terrorism and how his brothers were killed by the LTTE.
