The Fourth South Asian Conference on Sanitation opens in Colombo on Monday the 4th.
The Conference which will continue until the 8th of this month will be attended by all Ministers related to the Water and Sanitation fields within the Region. Addressing a media conference in Colombo, Minister Dinesh Gunawardena said that the aim of the conference is to secure solutions at the regional level to problems related to sanitation.
It will be a platform for governments to review what needs to be done in each of their respective countries to ensure everyone has access to clean sanitation. Each country is expected to present case studies of successful programmes that have been implemented in areas. Many scholars are slated to participate.
