The S.C. Realtors have “Gone Google” – in a big way.
This week, Google named the trade group a top-10 winner in its global competition for transitioning from older, labor-intensive information technology systems to an integrated bundle of faster, web-based computer applications known as Google Apps.
Google, the highly recognizable multinational corporation known for cutting-edge Internet search and advertising technologies, has erected a billboard in each of the 10 winning host cities in honor of the business or organization. The S.C. Realtors’ billboard is on Jamil Road in Columbia near the association’s office.
Switching the organization’s information technology software to the Google Apps has saved the association time and money, president Nick Kremydas said.
The new apps allow users to access information, accounts, spreadsheets and other files from any computer, simultaneously if desired. And they eliminate the need for consultants, spam guards and other in-house maintenance, Kremydas said.
