Japanese aid will be extended for the food security programme in Sri Lanka.
The Japan International Cooperation Agency has agreed to make a grant amounting to 468 million rupees in this connection. The agreements were signed at the Ministry of Finance and Planning. The Japanese ambassador in Sri Lanka Kunio Tahahashi and Secretary to the Finance Ministry P.B. Jayasundara signed the agreement representing the two countries. The expectation of granting the money is to ensure food security in the country by providing agricultural machinery.
