An autopsy has determined a man found dead in the charred remains of his Hemingway home also was shot.
Williamsburg County Coroner Harrison McKnight said a medical examiner found 63-year-old Roy Edward Poston was shot at least once.
Authorities say Poston's body was found near his kitchen door by firefighters after they put out a blaze Saturday morning at his home.
McKnight says investigators now consider Poston's death a homicide.
Authorities say Poston lived alone.
