There has been a of 60% increase in the export revenue in the first quarter of the year in comparison with the corresponding period of the previous year.
It was stated by the Chairman and the Chief Executive of the Export Development Board Janaka Ratnayake.
He said that due to economic and political stability in the country a 20 percent increase in exports is envisaged for five years from 2011. He said when comparing the export development in January and February with the corresponding period in the previous year, a 50 percent growth has been recorded. He said if exports will develop in a similar manner Sri Lanka can earn export revenue of 10 billion US Dollars by December.
