The call made by companies to increase the milk powder price has been rejected by the Consumer Affairs Authority .
The Companies have requested for an increase of a one KG pack of milk powder by 50 rupees while a 400 gramme pack by an amount ranging between 20 and 30 rupees. The Price Control Board of the Consumer Affairs Authority which met today has rejected the request. Many taxes imposed on the milk power imports were removed several months ago to provide relief to the companies. The Chairman of the Consumer Authority Rumi Marshuk says that there is no need to increase the price of milk powder under prevailing conditions.
