The President has greeted the Sri Lankan Cricket Team that has become the runner-up of the World Cup Series.
The Sri Lankan Cricket Team led by Kumara Sangakkara met with President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Temple Trees this morning. The President who exchanged pleasantries with the team members commended the skills displayed by them. The President stressed that Sri Lankan Cricketers have the flair to march forward exhibiting more talent. The President presented mementoes to the team members. A special memento was presented to Super Cricketer Muthiah Muralidaran for the contribution he made during the last 19 years. The Sri Lankan Tournament Director Suraj Dandeniya presented a souvenir of photographs pertaining to the series. Ministers, Parliamentarians, relatives of the cricketers and officials of Sri Lanka Cricket Institute participated in the occasion.
