The Kurunegala Teaching Hospital gets a Cancer Treatment Unit. The Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena has vested it in the public.
The new Canter Treatment Unit has been built at the Kurunegala Hospital under the Government’s programme of improving and expanding treatment for cancer patients countrywide. It cost 1.2 million rupees.
The three storied building has facilities to provide residential treatment to 100 patients at a time. The new unit has been established by the Health Ministry with the intention of easing congestion at the Cancer Hospital in Maharagama
