Art from Appalachia is on display through May 6 at East Tennessee State University.
The juried exhibition presents 59 works selected from 182 entries. Artists in Appalachian sections of Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia were eligible to submit works.
The selected artwork includes photographs, paintings, prints, ceramics, fibers, sculpture and mixed media.
The exhibit, "Mountain Visions 2011: A Regional Juried Exhibition," is at the university's Mary B. Martin School of the Arts and Reece Museum.
It was judged by Greg Shelnutt, director of the Visual Arts Program at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
