The day after a Liberty high school principal was arrested, the school's bookkeeper turned herself in to authorities on similar charges.
State police say 59-year-old Liberty High School bookkeeper Buea DeNard was arrested Thursday and charged with embezzlement.
Police say DeNard stole more than $2,000 from the school and Pickens County School District. She's also accused of manipulating deposits and diverting school funds.
DeNard and Liberty High School Principal Randy Gilstrap have both been on paid leave since earlier this year. State police said Wednesday Gilstrap had been charged with embezzling more than $10,000 from the school.
DeNard and Gilstrap have both been released on bond. It was not immediately clear if they had attorneys.
