An 18-year-old pickup truck passenger was killed in a two-vehicle collision Monday night in Kershaw County.
The man, whose identity was not immediately available, was riding in the Ford Ranger when it collided with another vehicle around 9 p.m. on Springvale Road, the S.C. Highway Patrol said.
The Ranger was driven by Chris Potter, 24, of Ridgeway Road, Ridgeway, trooper Billy Elder said. Neither he nor his passenger were wearing seat belts at the time of the wreck. Potter was taken to Palmetto Health Richland. His condition was unknown.
Potter was driving south on Springvale when he turned left in front of a northbound Kia sport utility vehicle driven by Brittney Holland, 23, also of Ridgeway. Holland was airlifted to Palmetto Health, Elder said. Her seat belt use was not reported.
Potter's passenger died at the scene of the wreck, Elder said.
