Bond has been denied for a South Carolina man charged in a crash that killed a high school senior on a stretch of highway named for his father, a soldier who died in Afghanistan.
A judge Monday denied bond for Michael Blake White on four felony DUI counts.
Authorities say White was driving a pickup truck April 7 that crossed the center line and smashed into a car carrying four students.
Eighteen-year-old Aaron Hill was pronounced dead along the section known as the Sergeant Shawn F. Hill Memorial Highway in Spartanburg County. The soldier was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan in 2008.
His attorney says White was on his way home from work when the wreck happened. Authorities said White had slurred speech and was disoriented at the hospital.
