Authorities say three people were sent to a hospital after a chemical leak at a Mauldin pest control business.
The Department of Health and Environmental Control says hazardous materials teams were called to Gregory Pest Solutions at around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday after a can containing a chemical known as orthene ruptured.
Agency spokesman Thom Berry says three workers in the back of the building were exposed to the chemical and were sent to the hospital to be checked out.
He says none of the workers suffered serious injuries and that no nearby homes were believed to be in danger.
Officials say the building is being vented and cleaned.
