Found Monday with her red Jeep Cherokee backed into the driveway of a Forest Acres home, a North Carolina woman told the homeowner returning for lunch that her friend was checking to see if the house belonged to someone he knew.
When the friend came around the side of the house, he jumped into the Cherokee and it sped off. That's when the homeowner discovered his side door pried open. He called 911.
A Forest Acres officer spotted a vehicle matching the homeowner's description heading west on Forest Drive. After a short chase, the officer trapped the car in Greg Park and arrested its occupants, the police department said.
Anna Lee Hoard, 34, of Cornelius, N.C. was charged with second-degree burglary, possession of marijuana and driving without a license. Justin Ryan Aldrich, 33, also of Cornelius, is charged with second-degree burglary. He also faces charges in Horry County, the police said.
Police searched the Jeep and found jewelry, jewelry boxes and iPods. They also found a pry bar.
