The three short videos are respectively about a community dealing with the stigma of leprosy but who fights against ignorance and isolation by teaching neighbouring communities to face adversity through Koothu, their traditional form or theatre.
Kerosene, through the words of Esan a taxi driver describes the embargoes of the ‘90s and how they affected his life, and, finally the focus was on a newspaper and its editorial staff in Jaffna who despite immense hardships and attacks including the loss of life during the nearly three decade long conflict continued giving news to the people of Jaffna. Speaking to The Sunday Leader, Kannan who shot the videos on DSLR Canon 5D MK2 said that traveling to Jaffna because of the time spent on the road was challenging but the fact that three of the characters were in his previous projects somewhat simplified matters. For Kannan, these are the true heroes; those who overcome isolation, violence, scarcity and yet continue living in a dignified manner without ever giving up.
