The South Carolina House is taking its traditional Easter break.
The House will not meet for their normal Tuesday through Thursday schedule this week. The Senate is taking Thursday off.
It is the House's second week off this year. Representatives also did not meet the week of March 21, following their budget debate.
Each week of furlough for House members saves taxpayers about $50,000 in mileage reimbursement and pay for meals and lodging.
The House took five furlough weeks in 2009 and four in 2010 to trim spending during the recession.
