The price of a kilo of wheat flour has been increased between Rs. 3 and Rs. 4.
Bakery owners have warned of a price hike in flour-based products following an increase in the price of wheat flour.
The All Island Bakery Owners Association has said the bakery owners would be compelled to increase the prices of wheat flour-based products.
According to the bakery owners, the Prima Group has increased the price of a kilo of wheat flour by Rs.4.10 from Monday night, while the Serendib group had already increased flour prices by Rs.3 per kilo.
