Those interested in the rare natural history illustrations of John James Audubon and Mark Catesby have a chance to see their original works during a talk at the University of South Carolina library in Columbia.
Top art dealer Graham Arader speaks Tuesday about their work at the Ernest F. Hollings Special Collections Library. University spokeswoman Peggy Binette says original prints by the two artists will be on display during the discussion.
Binette says Arader has 35 years of experience in working with rare maps, natural history prints, watercolors and historical astronomy illustrations.
The university has a first edition of Catesby's 18th century work on natural history in Carolina, Florida and Bahama Islands as well as an original folio set of Audubon's "Birds of America."
