403 million rupees will be expended on the resolution of problems of hostels of students of the Aesthetic University.
Higher Education Minister S.B. Dissanayake said that the hostel problem was a main shortcoming encountered by the students of the Aesthetic University. The Minister said that they have allocated 403 million rupees to resolve this problem and grant relief to the students.
The construction of the related hostels commenced this morning under the patronage of Minister Dissanayake. Two hostels will be constructed. The laying of the foundation stone for the Women’s hostel in Rajagiriya took place under the Minister’s patronage this morning. It will cost 198 million rupees. The hostel for men will come up at Dehiwala. The foundation stone for this hostel was also laid by the Higher Education Minister. It will cost 205 million rupees. At present 1907 students are studying at the Aesthetic University. Vice Chancellor of the University Senior Professor Jayasena Kottegoda was present at the launching of the construction work.
