The Government and the Tamil National Allinace (TNA) are continuing talks with the intention of finding a political solution to the people of the North and East, who had been liberated from the terrorists.
Four rounds of talks between the Government and the TNA had already been held at the invitation of the President to improve the living standards of the people of the North and East. The first round of discussions was held on the 10th of January. A delegation comprising Senior Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake and Ministers Prof. G.L. Peiris and Nimal Siripala de Silva is scheduled to participate in the 5th round of discussions. The Government’s official website said that Parliamentarians M.A. Sumanthiran, Marvai Senadiraja and Suresh Premachandran are due to represent the Tamil National Alliance.
