The Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone will continue to further exist. As a result the Department of Meteorology said that several areas will experience rain in the next few days.
Meteorologist Chaminda De Silva said that the Active zone where the wind coming from Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere meets is affecting the weather over the Island. He said that thundershowers will be fairly widespread over the island during the afternoon and night. Fairly heavy falls are likely at some places. Showers or thundershowers will also occur in the Western and Southern coastal areas during the morning too. There may be temporary localized fairly strong winds during thundershowers. He warned the public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activities.
