A countrywide survey is to be carried out for the first time on the spread of sexual related diseases in Sri Lanka.
The Health Ministry has decided to conduct such a survey to gather correct information on the spread of sexual related diseases. The main aim of this exercise is to minimize the spread of AIDS. The survey will also identify communities with dangerous habitual behaviour leading for the spread of the disease. It is desired to use the data gathered from this survey in the supply of drugs that would prevent the spread of the disease and launching projects for the control of the disease.
