Police have filed accessory charges against the mother of a man charged with killing a Florence woman earlier this month.
Forty-eight-year-old Evelyn Williams of Florence is accused of helping her son get out of town to avoid police.
Twenty-six-year-old Deonte Nathaniel Williams was arrested in New Jersey on Saturday after he was shot and wounded at a motel.
He is charged with murder in the stabbing 44-year-old Mariam Burgess. Her body was found in her burning home on April 13.
Florence Police Maj. Carlos Raines says an extradition hearing is set later this week in New Jersey to determine if Deonte Williams returns to South Carolina to face charges in Burgess' death.
