Richland County authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying a man whose remains were found in a tent constructed of tarps April 16 near the Blossom Street Bridge.
Coroner Gary Watts says the man, who may have recently lost a front tooth, appears to have been Hispanic or Caucasian, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and in his late 30s to early 50s. He was wearing shorts, was covered by a blanket and appeared to have died in his sleep, Watts told The State. The condition of the remains suggested the man died two to four weeks before his body was discovered.
Anyone with information as to the identity of this individual is asked to call the Richland County Coroners Office at (803) 576-1799.
