SUMTER, S.C. (AP) Authorities in Sumter County say two adults and two children were injured when the truck they were riding in crashed into a radio station as sheriff's deputies were pursuing the driver for failing to stop.
WIS-TV in Columbia reported that Sheriff Anthony Dennis said deputies attempted to stop vehicle after they saw it driving erratically. He said the driver refused to pull over, lost control and crashed into the building housing WSSC radio, which is owned by Sumter Baptist Temple Church. No one in the station was hurt.
Dennis said the couple's 1-year-old and 3-year-old children were in the back seat and were unrestrained.
All four were hospitalized, but their conditions were not known late Thursday night. Dennis said charges are pending against the father, who was driving the vehicle.
