The German Government has pledged assistance to enrich the livelihoods in the North.
The assurance was given during a meeting between the German Ambassador to Sri Lanka Jens Plotner and Minister Basil Rajapaksa. It was held at the Presidential Secretariat. The German diplomat appreciated the programmes mooted by the Sri Lankan Government to develop the country. The Project launched with 275 million rupees last year will continue until 2013. Accordingly equipment worth 48 million rupees under the first stage was handed over. The German Ambassador said that this assistance was given to improve the lives of the civilians in the Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu Districts.
