The United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) is prepared to commemorate the May Day injecting strength to the President to carry forward the development in the midst of all challenges.
Minister Maithripala Sirisena said that the people have risen against at a time when attempts were being made to obstruct the courageous path of the motherland to become a strong nation in the world. He requested all Sri Lankans to display the might of the working class of this country to the world within the farsighted leadership of the President and make use of this opportunity to build a fortress to defeat all conspiratorial forces. The Minister pointed out that everyone should unite to display the force to the international forces who are threatening the country.
Minister Dulles Alahapperuma pointed out that at a time when there are threats to Sri Lanka, he personally considered that every citizen should give prominence to the country going beyond political and religious agendas. The entire nation should unite and be determined to rout forces which are attempting to paralyse the country’s efforts to stand up after a 30-year dreadful period. The Minister added that the best opportunity to do so is the Workers’ Day. He invited the nation to get together for this purpose.
Meanwhile arrangements are being made at the Colombo town Hall Grounds where the United People’s Freedom Alliance rally is due to be held tomorrow. A new traffic plan will also be operative within the Colombo city. Several Parliamentarians, including Minister Basil Rajapaksa inspected the arrangements that were being made at the location.
