Celebrating Mother’s Day

If your mother’s the best, then nothing short of a Shirohana flowers bouquet would do on Mother’s Day, next Sunday.
Bunches, gifts and flower cakes will be available at all Shirohana flagship stores islandwide at special prices for delivery on Sunday, made especially for Mother’s Day.
Established in Sri Lanka in 1986, Shirohana created a flora culture in an era when good quality greenhouse grown flowers and stylish flower shops were unheard of.
In just a few years, the Shirohana concept of classy flower shops bloomed. With exclusive locations in Colombo that made use of antique and reclaimed objects together with stylish flower arrangements, that set a new trend and changed opinions about flowers in Sri Lanka forever.
Speaking to The Sunday Leader, Shirohana CEO Srimal Wickramasinghe explained that the first Shirohana shop was opened over 20 years ago in Galle Face, the heart of Colombo and today the Shirohana brand has spread islandwide for customers’ convenience.
He said, “The reason we expanded was because the flower market grew at an astounding pace, but Shirohana managed to retain customer loyalty through being consistent in creating beautiful flower bouquets, making them easily accessible and developing an awakening interest in flowers amongst customers, young and old.”
On the topic of Mother’s Day promotions, Wickramasinghe mentioned, “We’re starting to promote flowers for all occasions, because the one truth we have realized over our years in operation, is that everyone loves receiving flowers. However, we’re also breaking the notion that our flowers are unaffordable.”
Furthermore he explained that despite the outward appearance of being an upmarket brand, Shirohana has always strived to be affordable, even for schoolgirls and boys who have just a few hundred rupees to spare.
Wickramasinghe said, “Shirohana’s beauty is that as a brand we have maintained our quality and therefore customers keep coming back. While some may feel intimidated to walk in to a showroom, they needn’t be. We offer an excellent value for money from a single stem flower to small bunches, baskets, bouquets and larger arrangements.”
Also new at Shirohana is a special floral designer who breathes new life into Shirohana floral arrangements.
“This Mother’s Day we want to use flower power to show mums how much we care. And we’ve created a unique set and also undertake individual orders that can range from simple to elaborate, small to large. At Shirohana, it’s our individuality and distinction in quality that help us stand out and make us the ultimate flower shop and this Mother’s Day we’ll be using only the finest flowers and foliage to capture the essence of mothers everywhere.”
