Arrangements in place to open the Sambuddhatva Mandiraya

All arrangements are in place for the opening of the Sri Smbuddhatva Jayanthi Mandiraya.

President Rajapaks will declare open the Sri Sambuddhatva Jayanthi Mandiraya which is the world’s largest Buddhist Publications and Information Centre on the 15th of this month. Havelock Road will also be declared as the Sri Smbuddhatva Jayanthi Mawatha in parallel to this event. The President launched its construction on 3rd February last year. The Mandiraya build at No: 32 at Havelock Road in Colombo 05 has 16 stories. The work was undertaken according to a concept of the Ven. Kirama Wimalajothi Thera, Director of the Buddhist Cultural Centre at Nedimala and under the guidance of the President.

These details were given at a news briefing by the prelate and Minister Dinesh Gunawardena. Buddhist books published in the world will be available at this Centre. It is also expected to provide Buddhist Advisory Services. The Mandiraya is equipped with an auditorium which has a seating capacity of the 500 and also computer facilities.
