A series of programmes has been organized countrywide to commemorate the 2600th Sambuddhatva Jyanthiya.
100 Buddhist monks of the Kundasala area in Kandy joined in a Pindapatha programme. Its aim was to popularize the Buddhist philosophy and policies among the younger generation.
