One million signature campaign against Darusman Report continues

The Darusman Report has come in for strong criticism. Protests are mounting against it countrywide.

The Northern polity displayed their objection to the Drusman Report by joining in the one million signature campaign in Vavuniya. The Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim community in large numbers joined in placing their signatures on the memorandum. Minister C.B. Ratnayake was present.

The people of the East also expressed their strong protest against the report. They joined in the one million signature campaign t the Agrabodhi Vihare in Kantale.

The signature campaign in the Trincomalee town commenced with religious observances at the Jayasumanarama Temple.  The Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim communities joined in this campaign.  Minister C.B. Ratnayake and Deputy Minister Susantha Punchinilame were also present.

A demonstration against the Darusman Report was organized in the Monergala Town.  Many people’s representatives joined in this protest held under the patronage of Minister Sumedha Jayasena.

Another programme to collect signatures of the people of Nuwara Eliya against the Darusman Report was launched in the Nuwara Eliya town. Some placed their signatures in blood.
