Charleston residents concerned about the city's growing cruise industry and plans for a $25 million cruise terminal are expected at a forum sponsored by the Historic Charleston Foundation.
The Monday evening forum comes a day before the South Carolina State Ports Authority holds a public meeting on designing the new terminal to be located just up the waterfront from its existing, aging terminal.
Mayor Joe Riley, ports officials and city planners are scheduled to speak.
The foundation has hired a consultant to assess how plans for the terminal and nearby redevelopment may affect the quality of life for those living nearby.
Foundation executive director Kitty Robinson says the group is a good organization to lead the community in discussing such concerns.
