Rehabilitated ex-combatants will gain freedom marking Sambuddhatva Jayanthiya

Plans are afoot to release another group of LTTE cadres who had undergone rehabilitation. They will be released to mark the 2600th Sambuddhatava Jayanthiya.

 

 

Rehabilitation Commissioner General Brig. Sudantha Ranasinghe said that priority would be given to the married and those who have children when selecting the group. The rehabilitated cadres have been imparted vocational training. They had also been provided education facilities. . Mental advisory services were also launched within the camps. 6530 LTTE cadres who had surrendered to the armed forces have already been released after rehabilitation while another 4360 are undergoing rehabilitation.
