Police in Connecticut have charged three Navy sailors in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl last year in the submarine base town of Groton.
Groton City police say the sailors assigned to the USS Philadelphia submarine turned themselves in Monday. They are 21-year-old Gabriel Dominguez of Manteca, Calif., 22-year-old Benjamin Boyter of Woodruff, S.C., and 23-year-old Keith Douglass of Schoolcraft, Mich.
Police charged Dominguez with aggravated first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor, and Boyter and Douglass with risk of injury to a minor. Dominguez is being held on a $150,000 bond, and Boyter and Douglass posted bail.
It's not clear if they have lawyers. They were arraigned Monday and are due back in New London Superior Court April 28.
