Two Lexington County Fire Service firefighters were injured in a house fire early this morning.
The fire service was called to 890 Wise Ferry Road around 12:52 a.m. and found the single-story home engulfed in flames. It took two hours to get the fire under control because of the nature of the home's construction, the fire service said.
Two of the 25 responding firefighters were injured. The injuries were described as minor and they were treated and released from the Lexington Medical Center.
The occupants were in the home when the fire started, but they were able to get out unharmed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The fire service said it does not appear to be purposefully set.
