The TMVP led by Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pilliyan has condemned the search carried out on the Chief Minister’s office and residence and the arrest of three party members.
Chandrakanthan’s office and residence was searched for weapons by the Army yesterday.
The party initially said it would meet today and decide on action to be taken over the latest developments.
Meanwhile, Chandrakanthan told a press conference today that he has been invited for a discussion by President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Friday (20).
According to Chandrakanthan, the party would make its final decision after meeting with the President.
The Police has arrested three persons under suspicion for last week’s killing of a coordinating secretary to Deputy Minister Vinayagamurthy Muralitharan alias Karuna Amman.
