Investigations into the financial irregularities at the Ceylon Electricity Board and LECO will be continued.
At a media briefing held yesterday, the heads of Ceylon Electricity Board and LECO stressed that action will be taken against those who engage in fraudulent activities and other irregularities under the law of the land. The media briefing was held at the Ministry of Power and Energy. Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board Vidya Amarapala, Chairman of LECO Chandana Saputantri, and Working Director of the Ceylon Electricity Board Roshan Gunawardena expressed their views. They said that extensive investigations will be carried out into the appointment of Dr. Susantha Perera, the suspended General Manager of LECO, as the Chief Engineer of the Ceylon Electricity Board. They stressed that there is no room for fraud and irregularities in their organizations.
