The Minister, who will meet his Chinese counterpart Minister Yang Jiechi during the two day visit, is expected to discuss the controversial UN report on Sri Lanka.
“The Minister will discuss bilateral issues during his visit to China including economic cooperation. He is also likely to discuss the UN expert panel report,” a spokesman at the External Affairs Ministry told The Sunday Leader.
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Jiang Yu announced at a regular press conference last Thursday that Minister Peiris will pay a working visit to China from May 23 to May 24 at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.
