A Rock Hill man was taken into custody by Aiken County deputies shortly after an Amber Alert was issued Sunday morning.
Aiken County Sheriffs deputies apprehended Carl White, 28, on I-20 near the Georgia border around 9 a.m. and has been charged with driving under the influence, according to Sheriffs Captain Troy Elwell.
His son, 23-month Zaylen White, was found in his 2002 Ford Expedition unharmed.
The childs mother, Shrece Charlete Robinson, was killed by gunfire in the driveway of her home in Rock Hill on Saturday night, according to Brad Redfearn with the City of Rock Hill Police Department.
Redfearn said sources told officials that White was distraught and fled with their child.
