Authorities in the Netherlands say that LTTE received funds since 1983

May 24, 2011 10:25:57 AM - itnnews.lk

The money collected from the Tamil people living in Netherlands has been credited to the LTTE funds. It has been revealed that the LTTE forcibly collected money from the Tamil people. Around 10 thousand Tamils are living in the Netherlands since 1983. It is believed that the LTTE was well aware of their monthly income. Money had been collected from each family on this basis. It is also reported that lotteries were also drawn at carnivals to collect funds for the LTTE. The authorities in the Netherlands say that these activities had been accelerated since 2005. It is reported that each family had to compulsorily donate an amount of 2000 Euros and those who denied were threatened with consequences to be faced by their relatives in Sri Lanka.
