Orangeburg law enforcement officers raiding a suspect drug house turned the tables on drug buyers, posing as the dealer and making arrests when customers made purchases.
The reverse sting operation led to the arrest of five individuals Saturday, the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office said.
Investigators obtained a search warrant for a Moncks Corner Road residence in Eutawville, where they found marijuana and cocaine. While officers were searching the place, they saw potential drug customers arriving, so they posed as the dealer, the sheriff's office said.
As individuals purchased what they believed to be narcotics, they were arrested. Eight additional charges were made to some of the suspects on minor charges such as open containers of alcohol and simple possession of marijuana.
