Smelling smoke? Ga. wildfire to blame

That smoky odor many South Carolinians are smelling most likely is from a huge wildfire burning in southern Georgia and northern Florida.
The S.C. Forestry Commission has received many calls about the smell, but the commission reports that fire activity in South Carolina actually has been quite low in the past 48 hours.
The smell probably is from the Honey Prairie fire, now 148,500 acres in size and only about 70 percent contained on the Georgia-Florida border, according to the commission. Seven South Carolina wildland firefighters and some of the states heavy equipment have been sent to help with that fire.Click here
