An unoccupied Batesburg-Leesville home was damaged by fire Thursday night that might have been caused by lightning.
Lexington County Fire Service and Batesburg-Leesville firefighters responded to 256 Dixieland Trail around 11:38 p.m. and found a home engulfed in flames.
The fire was extinguished after it caused an estimated $150,000 in damages.
A cause has not been determined, but thunderstorms in the area might have led to a lightning strike, the fire service said.
