Fifteen youths leave for Pakistan on exchange programme

Minister Dallas Alahapperuma has said that every possible measure will be taken to steer the youth campaign towards a new path.

The Minister said that it has been made compulsory for Vocational Training Centres and Technical Colleges to obtain membership of Youth Councils. He said that the total number of those who enter the Technical Colleges and Vocational Training Centres amount to 66,000 annually. He stressed that the government will not hesitate to take measures regarding the expansion of the Youth campaign. He noted that some measures have already been taken.

Minister Dallas Alahapperuma expressed these views addressing the National Board representatives of the  Sri Lanka Youth Federation. The Minister also presented air tickets to 15 youths who are to leave for Pakistan under the international youth exchange programme initiated by the National Youth Services Council. Chairman of the NYSC Lalith Piyum Perera was amongst those who participated in the occasion.
