Kershaw County deputies say they have charged a man with murder after he confessed to shooting a woman near a methamphetamine lab set up in her Lugoff home.
Sheriff Jim Matthews said 49-year-old Greg Smith led deputies Sunday to the gun used to kill 59 year-old victim Debra Tyler the day before.
Smith was the only survivor Saturday in an odd chain of events that started with a call about a gunshot. When deputies arrived, Tyler was dead. The sheriff says her husband, 56-year-old David Tyler, died a short time later in police custody, possibly from cardiac arrest.
Matthews says six deputies became sick after inhaling the fumes form the meth lab, but recovered.
Smith is being held without bond. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.
