A grand jury has indicted a 15-year-old on charges he shot at a resource officer at Socastee High School and took pipe bombs to the school.
The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reported Wednesday that court records show a Horry County grand jury indicted the teen on charges of attempted murder and three counts of transporting or possessing components of a destructive device. If convicted, the teen faces up to 30 years in prison.
He was taken into custody Sept. 21, 2010, at the school, where police say he shot at the school resource officer in his office. They say he also had two pipe bombs in his backpack.
The teen will be tried as an adult in a trial that's set to begin in August or September.
